CDRMS OVERVIEW

The IBHRE Test Writing Committee, in collaboration with testing agency, designed the CDRMS certification examination. The CDRMS certification mark recognizes individuals who have successfully achieved a passing score on the IBHRE certification examination and maintain certification requirements, as set by IBHRE for providing remote monitoring of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs).

All new certifications are valid for four (4) years after which certified Specialists must enroll in the IBHRE continuous competency program.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For the CDRMS exam, there are two (2) separate sections of 75 items. Following completion of each section you may not return to a previous section. There is a hard time-limit allocated to each section.

This examination validates the competency and skill level of practitioners who use Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) in caring for patients suffering with chronic cardiac disorder. This exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions and is administered within a four-hour time limit. Candidates are expected to have broad knowledge in five general areas:

  • Rhythm recognition
  • Device and lead function
  • Remote service management
  • Diagnostic monitoring
  • Device technology
