Physician CCDS Exam Content Outline
The scope of each certification examination is determined through job task analysis (JTA). Job task analyses are performed every 5-7 years to ensure the requirements for the profession and competencies for certification are current and necessary. Prior to the fifth year of the JTA, the Board of Directors determines if a JTA is necessary or not. If not, the JTA will be conducted before the 7 years have elapsed from the date of the current JTA.
IBHRE conducted a JTA for the CCDS exam in 2026. A job analysis study is designed to obtain descriptive information about the tasks performed on a job and the knowledge needed to adequately perform those tasks. The purpose of the job analysis study was to:
- validate tasks and important knowledge; and,
- develop test specification.
As a result, IBHRE's previous exam content outline was updated. To view the current certification exam content outline, please click here.
