Credentialing Board Observes Annual Celebration of IBHRE Day
Today, the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) announced observance of its fifth annual IBHRE Day celebration, which will take place globally on Mon., Feb. 11th. This day of recognition acknowledges the positive impact of IBHRE-certified heart rhythm management practitioners whose knowledge help advance patient care in the field of electrophysiology and cardiac device therapy.
This year’s theme, Elevating Skills, Knowledge, and the Delivery of Care, highlights IBHRE’s dedication to quality standards as well as IBHRE-certified professionals’ commitment to maintaining expert level skills in heart arrhythmia management.
“IBHRE Day 2019 represents our strong tradition of recognizing the positive impact of highly-skilled practitioners in the field of heart rhythm management,” said Tracy Lofty, IBHRE’s executive director.
IBHRE’s dedication to helping heart rhythm examiners maintain top level skills is reflected in the credentialing board’s launch of its first online course, the Cardiac Device Education and Self-Assessment Course. This self-paced online study tool is designed specifically for physicians, nurses, other professionals and representatives of device manufacturers who want to confirm their knowledge in the field of cardiac device therapy.

“As a certifying board, our mission is not only to grant certification, but to provide resources that enhance heart rhythm professionals’ ability to deliver quality patient care,” said Lofty. “Consequently, the online course is an ideal resource for practitioners who want to review and evaluate their knowledge and skills in the field.”
Recognized internationally, IBHRE credentials are held by more than 10,000 certified professionals in more than 50 countries around the world. To earn an IBHRE credential, certification candidates must sit for a comprehensive computer-based examination, which is based on an international body of knowledge. These candidates must demonstrate a solid foundation in the fields of cardiac rhythm device therapy and electrophysiology, meet eligibility requirements, and comply with a code of ethics established by the IBHRE Board of Directors.
Heart rhythm practitioners who successfully complete IBHRE’s certification process earn one of following credentials:
