Enrico Asidao Named IBHRE Ambassador of the Year New article
The International Board of Rhythm Heart Examiners® announced today that Enrico Asidao, CEPS, has been selected IBHRE’s 2018 IBHRE Ambassador of the Year. This distinguished honor recognizes IBHRE-certified Ambassadors who are dedicated to advancing the delivery of cardiology care.
IBHRE Ambassadors are distinguished physicians and allied professionals who promote the value of IBHRE certification. As such, their role is critical to IBHRE’s ability to encourage heart rhythm practitioners to advance their career through certification and professional development. Selected by IBHRE staff, honorees are recognized for their valuable role on IBHRE committees, task forces, and special projects.
“I am so pleased to recognize Mr. Asidao,” said Tracy Lofty, executive director, IBHRE. “He is one of our most dedicated ambassadors and has made outstanding contributions to help grow and enhance IBHRE certification programs.”
A Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS), Asidao is an EP Territory Manager for Abbott Laboratories (formerly St. Jude Medical). In addition to his civilian career in medicine, Asidao has had a notable military background. An Iraqi War veteran, he served more than 11 years as a Navy Chief Hospital Corpsman, a Tactical Combat Care Specialist, and a Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist. During his service, Asidao was named Junior Sailor of the Year (Jacksonville, FL - 2000) and Senior Sailor the Year (Great Lakes, IL - 2005). His outstanding professional performance has also won him several distinguished awards and recognitions, including Rookie of the Year (2013); Regional Territory Manager of the Year (2016); EP Top Gun (2017) and the EP Winner’s Circle (2017).
“Mr. Asidao’s distinguished military and medical career paths are indicative of his dedication to helping others,” Lofty added. “As an IBHRE Ambassador, he has spent countless hours mentoring and providing professional guidance to his peers. His service to others illustrates the caliber of the IBHRE Ambassador and the high principles that guide them.”
Asidao will be recognized during the Heart Rhythm Society Annual Scientific Sessions, May 9-12, in Boston, Mass. The award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 9th at 4 pm in the IBHRE Lounge.
